What this website does not do
There is no analytics on this site. No advertising or tracking pixel is embedded, no session is recorded, and we set no cookies of our own. Nothing here builds a profile of you, and nothing follows you to another website. That is the whole list.
Server logs
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data any web server needs to answer a request: IP address, timestamp, requested address, referrer and browser identification. This is necessary to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse, and the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating the site securely. Nobody reads those logs for marketing.
Typefaces
The two typefaces used here are loaded from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4) when a page opens, which means Google receives your IP address and the identification of your browser. No cookie is set for this. No account of yours is involved. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in presenting the site in its own typography.
Where your journey goes
The journey you enter — the addresses, the date and time, the flight home on a return trip, the number of passengers, and the flight number, contact details and extras you add at checkout — is sent to our booking system at portal.fransfers.com to price the journey and to place the booking. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: performing a contract, or taking steps at your request before one exists. Where a driver or a licensed partner operator carries out the journey, they receive only what they need to perform it. Nobody else is sent any of it.
That is the only reason any of it leaves this site. The same applies to an enquiry sent from the contact or custom trip forms, and to a request to change or cancel a booking. A quote you ask to have emailed goes to the same system, which sends it to the address you enter and keeps that address with the quote, so that we can contact you about it.
Address suggestions
The pickup and drop-off fields, both on the booking page and in the search box that appears on most pages of this site, offer address suggestions. When you type into one of them, and not before, the page loads Google's Places library (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4) and sends what you have typed to it in order to fetch those suggestions. Google receives that text and your IP address, and may store data on your device. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, because entering a pickup and a destination is how a transfer is requested. Google also processes data in the United States.
Use this site without typing into one of those fields and nothing reaches Google. From a suggestion we keep only the address text you pick: we do not request or store coordinates or any other place data.
Once you have a price, the booking page also draws a map of the route. To do that it sends the two addresses to Google, which returns the shape of the drive. The map is a picture. The distance, the journey time and the fare shown to you are the operator's own figures, never Google's. No map is drawn before a price exists.
How we know where a booking came from
A small script from portal.fransfers.com runs on every page and records, for the current browser session only, a random session identifier, the page you arrived from, and any campaign parameters in the address. It is kept in your browser's session storage, which your browser discards when you close the tab, and it is sent with a booking or an enquiry so that we can tell which channel it came from. It does not identify you. No other website can read it, and no advertising network is sent it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in knowing which of our own channels produce bookings.
Card payment
Where a booking is paid by card, the payment form is provided by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Dublin) and loads at that point and no earlier. Card details go straight into Stripe's own form. We never see the card number. Stripe handles the payment as its own controller under its own privacy policy. The legal basis for passing the payment to them is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Customer account
You can use a customer account to see your bookings and invoices. There is no password. You enter your email address, we send a six-digit code to it, and you type that code back. Sign-in and account data run through our booking system at portal.fransfers.com. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Once you are signed in your browser keeps a session token in local storage (the key rd_token) so that you stay signed in. It keeps you signed in for 30 days. After that it expires, and signing out deletes it at once. The account page also lets you download everything we hold about you as a file.
Retention
Enquiry and booking data is kept for as long as it takes to carry out the journey and to meet the statutory commercial and tax retention periods that follow it. Then it is deleted. A closed customer account is deleted with its data on request.
Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 21 GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to us at the address or email above. We answer within a month, and where we cannot, we say so and say why. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, which for us is the data protection authority of the federal state we are established in.
Changes to this policy
This document is updated in the same change as the processing it describes, rather than on a schedule. No service goes live unnamed here.
