Terms and conditions

The terms a transfer is booked and carried out on.

1. Scope

These terms apply to transfers booked with Fransfers through fransfers.com. A transfer is a private hire journey arranged in advance with a licensed operator and a driver. It is not a taxi. There is no rank and no queue, and it cannot be hailed in the street.

2. Booking and confirmation

A booking becomes binding when we confirm it. We confirm in writing. The confirmation states the vehicle class, the pickup point and time, and the agreed price. Please read the confirmation. A wrong address or a wrong flight number is the most common reason a pickup fails, and both are trivial to correct before the day. We ask for bookings at least 12 hours ahead, and will take a shorter notice whenever a car is free.

3. The price

The price is fixed before you book, and it is the price you pay. The number does not move. It covers the vehicle and the driver, tolls, airport access charges and VAT. There is no meter. Traffic and a longer route do not change the price. A further charge can arise only from a change you ask for: an extra stop, a different destination, or waiting beyond the free allowance below. Prices quoted elsewhere on this site are examples for a given route and class, and the price that binds you is the one shown for your own journey at the moment you book it.

4. Waiting time

An airport pickup includes 90 minutes of free waiting, counted from when the aircraft actually lands rather than from the scheduled time, provided a flight number was given with the booking. The clock starts when you land. A pickup from an address includes the free waiting stated in your confirmation. Waiting beyond the allowance may be charged at the rate stated there.

5. Passengers and luggage

Each vehicle class states how many passengers and how many bags it takes, and a class that cannot hold your party or your luggage may mean the journey cannot be carried out as booked at all. If your party is at the limit of a class, book the next one up. Nobody has ever regretted the bigger car.

6. Child seats

Child seats are provided at no extra charge when they are requested with the booking. Ask for them when you book. German law requires a child to travel in a suitable restraint, so a seat that was not requested can make the journey impossible to carry out lawfully.

7. Changes and cancellation

Plans change, and we know it. A booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 6 hours before the agreed pickup time. For hourly, full-day and event bookings, which hold a car for you, the free window is 24 hours. Inside that window a fee may apply, because a driver and a vehicle are committed to your journey by then. The fee that applies to your booking is stated in your confirmation before you commit. It is never a surprise afterwards.

A cancelled or diverted flight is not treated as a late cancellation. Tell us as soon as you know. Where a flight number was given we usually see the change before you do, and we will contact you rather than wait.

If we cannot carry out a confirmed booking you get the full amount back, and where it is possible we arrange another vehicle before it comes to that, at no extra cost to you.

A change or a cancellation asked for through your account on this site is a request: it takes effect when we confirm it, not when you send it. The contact details in your confirmation reach us the same way.

8. If a passenger cannot be found

We try to reach you first. If a passenger is not at the agreed pickup point and does not answer contact within the free waiting time, the journey may be treated as a no-show and charged. For an airport pickup with a flight number, that time is measured from the actual landing.

9. Journeys carried out by partner operators

A journey may be carried out by a licensed partner operator. Where that happens, the agreed price and the vehicle class do not change, and neither do these terms.

10. Right of withdrawal

A contract for the carriage of passengers is exempt from the distance selling rules under § 312 Abs. 2 Nr. 14 BGB, so the statutory fourteen-day right of withdrawal does not apply to a transfer booking. What applies instead is the cancellation section above, which is more generous than the statutory position for most bookings.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for injury to life, body or health, and for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, while for slight negligence we are liable only where a material contractual obligation is breached, and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Governing law

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection given to you by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country you habitually live in. Nothing here takes that away.
